Kensington Square W8 - Average Price - £1,735,484

The London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea exudes wealth and refinement, and the rows of multi-million pound houses are the homes to London City bankers, Russian entrepreneurs, and the old landed gentry of England and beyond. Just walking in the rich neighbourhoods of Kensington, you see perfectly groomed 3- and 4-floor buildings, many which have been gutted and renovated to the highest standards. Home prices in these streets can range as high as six or seven million pounds. Along with Chelsea, Knightsbridge and Pimlico, these areas form the most affluent residential portions of central London. Of these, the Kensington area is the richest, and includes Kensington Palace - the home of Princess Diana from 1981 until her death in 1997. Other famous neighbours include the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum.

SW3 Chelsea - Average Price - £1,324,479

The Chelsea area bordered by Knightsbridge in the east, Kensington in the west and the River Thames to the south, is home to an eclectic mix of TV and movie stars, wealthy businessmen and women, foreign students and academics, footballers, rock stars and their friends. Along the Kings Road are boutique shops catering to those who don’t have to ask prices, as well as restaurants and even a barracks to the UK Territorial Army. The red-suited Chelsea Pensioners brighten up the area, and trendy nightclubs and pubs provide excitement in the evenings. Homes in this area are often exquisitely decorated and maintained, and even the student classes seem to reign just a cut-above the average.

Notting Hill - Average Price - £1,173,459 minus

Just north of Kensington is the Notting Hill area, made internationally famous a few years ago by Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts in the film of the same name. Also well-known for the Notting Hill Carnival, the wide demographic of the area is proven in the fabulous homes in the wealthier neighbourhoods. Even the carriage-houses once home to horses and groomsmen have been converted, often into post-modern houses costing upwards of £500,000. The famed Portobello Road, for antiques and clothing shops, draws visitors from all over the world. Antonioni's 1966 movie "Blow Up" with young stars David Hemmings, Vanessa Redgrave, and Sarah Miles extensively used locations in the area.
